You will need to log in with your KU Online ID to download this software.

  1. Click on the Download Now link above, click OK to accept the license agreement, then log in with your username and password, and choose Save when presented with a File Download dialog box. Save the file to a location on your computer with enough room and where you can access it later.
  2. Navigate to the location where you saved the downloaded Outlook installation file (the default location is most likely the desktop).
  3. Double-click the file icon. Click Browse and select a location to store the unpacked folder.
  4. Once unpacking is complete, open the folder that was created, and double click the Setup icon.
  5. Enter customer information (name, initials, and department) and click Next.
  6. If you have a previous version of Outlook (e.g. Outlook 2000) already installed, choose Upgrade Now. Otherwise, choose Install Now.
  7. Click Next, and then Install to begin installation of files. If you are upgrading, the installer may prompt you that some features of previously installed versions are not available in the newer version. Answer appropriately for your needs.
  8. If the installer asks if you want to reboot your computer, answer Yes.
  9. If you have just upgraded form a previous version of Outlook, you don't need to do anything further, as all of your previous settings have been kept. You can simply start Outlook and begin using the new version. If you have not just upgraded, but rather are installing Outlook for the first time on your computer, proceed to the next step.
  10. Double-click the Outlook icon on the desktop. Click Next.
  11. Select Yes and click Next.
  12. Select Microsoft Exchange Server from the setup choices and click Next.
  13. Enter the server name exchange.ku.edu and enter your username. This is the part of your email address before the @ symbol. Click Check Name. You will be prompted to enter login information. Do so, ensuring that home is in the domain name box. Click OK. Your username is found and you may proceed if an underline appears below your username.
  14. Click Next, and then Finish. You may now log on to Outlook and begin using it.
  15. You may now delete the unpacked files from step 3.
