Changing Outlook 2000 from Internet E-mail Only to Corporate/Workgroup
Please note that changing Outlook 2000 from Internet E-mail Only to the Corporate/Workgroup configuration changes the configuration for all accounts. If you use Outlook 2000 to view multiple accounts, please contact the IT Customer Service Center at 864-8080 for assistance before making this change. If you installed Outlook 2000 from a personal CD, you will need the CD to make this change.
- You need to have Outlook open on your computer.
- From the Tools menu, select Options.
- Click on the Mail Services tab.
- Click on the Reconfigure E-mail Support button at the bottom of the window.
- Outlook will warn you that the change you are about to make will be in effect for all configurations. Click OK. Outlook will close automatically.
- Right click on the desktop icon for Outlook 2000. A menu will appear. Select Properties.
- Click on the Show Profiles button.
- Click Add.
- Choose Manually Configure Information Services and click Next >.
- Provide a Profile Name. This can be any name of your choosing. Click Next >.
- Click Add to add a service to your profile.
- Choose Microsoft Exchange Server from the list. Click OK.
- In the Microsoft Exchange Server: field enter the server name: exchange.ku.edu
- In the Mailbox: field, type your username. This is what appears before the @ku.edu in your email address.
- Click the Check Name button. The standard login screen will appear.
- In the username field, type your username. In the domain field, type home. In the password field, enter your password. Click OK. The Microsoft Exchange Server: field should display your server name underlined, e.g. SKYLARK2, and your full name will appear underlined in the Mailbox: field. Click OK.
- Click Add.
- Choose Outlook Address Book from the list. Click OK. You will not be prompted for any information.
- Click OK.
- Click Finish.
- At the bottom of the Mail properties window, choose your new profile from the pull-down menu under When starting Outlook, use this profile:. Click Close.
